Stardust // Humandust reminds us of the fact that we are made of stardust. That is to say, the elements that make up our bodies originated from the Big Bang and from the constant process of fusion within the high-temperature, high-pressure interiors of stars. This piece combines the small, familiar, and mundane with the enormous, unfathomable, and powerful, asserting that maybe we are not as insignificant as we may sometimes believe. Stardust and ‘humandust’, as I have dubbed it, are one and the same, making our relatively small existence in this vast universe seem more profound by virtue of the matter that we share with such immense celestial objects. Gazing at the bright dots in the night sky is practically like looking in a mirror, and I, for one, am honored to be a byproduct of the wonders of space.
